Dealing with boundary issues
-
Not wrong to suggest change, but consider why you’re making that suggestion and whether or not it aligns with goals.
-
Don’t offer exact language for change (lest you take over the writing) but workshop change.
-
If clarity or meaning is affected, suggest a change or ask students to explain verbally and type what they said, then compare to what was actually written.
-
Remind students of the time to reel them back in.
-
Getting off topic could be productive/useful to establish relationship and do some brainstorming.
